Last I heard the idea had been canned, the design was just to awkward for well just about every ones taste. They are planning on selling a new mini van in the states to be made by Chrysler(dear god why?), but unless you head to Brazil the microbus is gone for vw.

VW HQ decided not to produce the mircobus, since they already have the Sharan, Touran and Seat's Alhambra. The Mircobus would be a pure toy car but wouldn't make profit against investment costs.

Official word from VW is there will not be a new Microbus.

they have made concepts for them for a few years and they are way cool, but im not sure when they are going to make a production model
