How do I know whether my sound card can output 5.1 surround sound?

If it can out put 5.1 it will have a 5.1 channel outputs on the back, or sometimes called "Multichannel Sound". If not your can patch it through a 5.1 AV receiver and that will play 5.1 surround.

u can find ur sound card info from ur start menu

start > all program > ( ........)

it should be shown as ( Sound Manager )
