I was going to say that it depends on what you want to do. I believer as long it is not combat related (i.e. personal, supply, etc) you should be ok.

You might need a waiver though to get you through boot camp

I can answer this from personal experience. I tore my acl completely in half my senior year of high school. I wanted to go into the Army or Air force. As soon as they heard about my knee they said no way. However, my doctor who use to be a military doctor said that there is no reason why they can't take me.
I probably could have pushed for it but I didn't. So if you really really want to do this, try getting a physical exam by a military doctor who has the authority to say yes/no if you can or can't join do to physical problems.

No, surgery and followup physical therapy for that injury can bring the knee back to full function. Otherwise, there would be a lot of professional sports players out of work today.

Just make sure you are fully recovered before signing up. You don't want to re-injure yourself in training. Ask a military recruiter for a copy of the exercises done by basic trainees, get fit, be able to run three miles in less than 20 minutes. Be able run (sort of) while carrying someone your size on your shoulders for 50 yards.

They used to disqualify draftees with poor eye sight, but no more. They used to disqualify people from flight training who have had corrective eye surgery, and now they offer it. And, the list goes on

Todays knee replacement may be for an invalid, tomorrow's may be for a new recruit.

My husband had knee surgery and he is in the Air Force. They just reclassified him as far as being deployable. After some rehab and regaining strength he has been upgraded and is able to be sent on TDY's or longer deployments. It just depends on how well & how quickly you recover for them to allow you to be deployable.

If you have full capability of that knee now it should not be.

no because they would put the person at a desk job. wether it be requiting or something, it would just be a non combat position
