Have you ever actually sat down and read anything that Charles Darwin wrote? Have you ever taken the time to read anything from "On the Origin of Species" or "The Descent of Man?"
I'd also like to point out that I am caught somewhere in between Creationism and Evolution. I'm just asking a quesiton out of curiosity, because it seems that a lot of people who dump on Darwin have never actually looked at anything he did or wrote.

After reading some of the answers, I think I should go a little further and ask if any of you have also looked at any of the recent literature regarding evolution as well as what Darwin had to say.

Thank you!! This is one of the most sensible questions I've seen here since I started visiting. I do not agree with the theory of evolution, but you make such a valid point, that one should actually research the things they claim to oppose, before leading a backlash against them. Same with Calvinism and the doctrine of predestination. Many Christians badmouth John Calvin and his teachings without ever once sitting down and actually reading what he had to say. Anyway, I agree with you. Thanks again for the dose of good old-fashioned common sense!

Darwin made a lot of important observations, but his idea of evolution is not quite the one science currently holds, so you should find something more up to date.
Notice that scientist's change their mind when new evidence is available, but the religious claim that someone who wrote something down a couple thousand years ago had the truth perfect.
There is no actual real scientist who does not accept evolution. Hobbyists often claim to know what they are talking about, but they don't.
It really doesn't matter though; the people that are important accept evolution. End of story.

Reading Darwin is a waste of time. You can learn about evolution much more easily in school or university texts. I agree that most opponents don't seem to understand evolution very well, though.

You don't have to believe in God or Creationism to still believe in evolution. The tendency towards novelty and complexity is a universal trend starting at the beginning of time, and culminating at the Omega Point.
Research "Novelty Theory" by Terrance McKenna.

Proving that his show-piece skeleton was the skeleton/skull of a human & the jaw bone of an Ape!
He was denounced back then, U chose 2 4get that, UR choice!

Darwin's book gave rise to extreme racism, along with the fact that the fossil record doesn't support evolution at all. You should go to www.truths that transform.com and go to the archives and listen to "Darwin's deadly legacy". If you still think that darwin's ideas are real, then you just hate God and love this world.

There are many newer studies and scientific papers that prove this theory.
