My mom is the best 'friend' I'll ever have. No matter how much I mess up or bad choices I make, she's always been my support. She is fiercely loyal and dedicated. Life changes, friends and lovers come and go or let you down but my mother never has. And she never will. She loves me no matter what.

When I was growing up, I didn't have a very good relationship with my mom, things weren't very good. My dad was great !! But my mom could be very mean But after I left home & got married slowly our relationship improved, though over the years it was up & down.

But now that my mom is 72, our relationship is very good. We are best friends & she lives with me & my husband. I forgave her a long time ago for the way I was treated, holding on to the past was only hurting me, not her. The past can't be changed, only the future.

I hope that anyone reading this,if they have had a bad relationship with their mom or any family member growing up, will put it aside & forgive them. You never forget what was done, but you can move on & forgive. Life is short & I am enjoying what time I have left with my mom.

Iffy at best. I used to think she didn't love me, at least not as much as she loves my older sister. The two of them seem so close, and my sister is so spoiled! Then out of the blue, my mother would do something to help me, and my theory of her not loving or caring for me would be shot to hell. I know we both think alike in a lot of ways. So sometimes we talk, but she is still closer to other women in our family than she is w/ me. I'm Daddy's-little-girl!

Mine is dead, but we had a love/hate relationship...not speaking for years at a time. She preferred my brothers who never did anything for her to me, who did everything she asked just cos I was the only one HERE. Mine wanted me to be like her. Geesh. No way. I was MY OWN person, a rebel if you will....we didn't get along much at all. Sad. I miss her but not like I miss my dad and brother...I have cried over them, but never cried over my mother...

To be honest, I have to say that I have a great relationship with my Mom...she's like my best friend and I can talk to her about anything. Unfortunately, I don't get to see her as much as I would like to. :-(
