Does anyone know good Japanese Sheba Inu breeders? Or have that type of dog to tell me the personality of it. Also, how much do they cost because someone told me they are a rare breed? Right now I have a golden retriver who gets along very well with other dogs. I am an aspiring dog trainer who would like to train different types to learn different personalities. The Japanese Sheba Inu captured my heart because of it's graceful fox-like features. Anybody that has any infomation on this animal please let me know. Thank You.

Were you watching Crufts 2005 on Animal Planet? Because that is what I was watching, too!

You can go to this link and find out all about Sheba Inu's.

Good luck!

Shibas are very stubborn little dogs. If you don't show them who's boss right away, they become the boss. They are a big dog in a small package. I have known a few! They are very expensive, upwards of $1500 or more. Any cheaper and you're not dealing with reputable breeders that do all the testing necessary to insure you get a healthy dog free from genetic defects. They are adorable, comical and fun loving, but capable of protection. As a trainer you may have a challenge on your hands! I wish you luck!

if you want a chanllenge here it is... These dogs are hyper stuburn, and need a lot of training. They also have issues geting along with other dogs. They like to be the only dog, and will fight to be the alpha dog in your home. I do not reccomend these dogs.
They cost about 400 for a basic blood line from a petstore. To get a real good one could run much more.
my freind has four of these dogs and none of them are potty trained and they fight all the time.
i would suggest a mutt to train. There cheaper and you would be doing a good thing by saving one from a local pound or humane society. A lot of people who get muts think they are untrainable but if they see the trainer has a well trained mutt they will be more hopeful and more willing to put their dog in training as well. See if you can introduce your dog to your new choice before bringing it home. I have a mutt and he is very well trained, and I wouldn't trade him for anything.
I took my dog to the training at petsmart. It's based on positive reinforcement, you could always start your carear there.

They are a very rare breed and are often imported from breeders in Asia. A friend of mine paid $1,500 to have one brought over. The are a lot like Akitas only smaller.

worked for a lady that owned one he was the meanest nastiest dog I have ever met. from the little bit I know it would be the last dog on the face of the earth that I would own. They may be very nice dogs and this one was just the bad apple.

go to breeders.net this site has breed overviews and also will give you a search by state to find breeders in your area. Also as it is not listed on the attributes of this breed on their onsite commentary please not this breed was used for hunting and usually does not do well with small animals (cats, guinea pigs, ect.) due to the instinctive need to hunt and chase even when raised together.
