Discipline is usually better and so more chance of studying and getting some listening in rather than noisy boredom

Catholic schools can be good. A lot here are 99% white and really racist, so if your schools are like that, your studies will probably not be very diverse. Even if you are white, it's good to have friends from different races.
In Catholic school you'll probably have to take religious studies. Most (or is it all) Catholic schools are separated by gender. All of them here are. If you have a problem with that, you might not want to go.
A lot of public schools are bad. No money, students are out of control, not enought teachers, etc. But if you look hard enough you can find a good one. My school (public) was rated higher than any other school in the state, public or private. So if you really want to go to a public school, show your mother some good ones.
And your mother's statistic, 9 out of 10 people from Catholic schools seucced better in life, is completely untrue. No surveys are taken on that. And how many people in Asia go to Catholic schools?

Most of the girls that I knew that went to Catholic school were hellions! They smoked, drank and got into a lot of trouble. Same with christian schools. It's basically the same as public. In my opinion the only difference was the uniform thing. They would like for you to think that the girls are all goody goodies but they aren't, and neither are the boys. Education wise, I'd say it's the same, maybe less. I went to public schools all my life and succeeded quite well, as did my other family members and friends. It is what you make of it.

Yeah you learn more at a private school.
Clothes have absolutely nothing to do with being an individual. You will always be an individual no matter what you do.

That thing about 9 of 10 having a better life? I agree. In fact, I'll go so far as to say your life will be miserable unless you get a good education. Public school only prepares you for a life of doing simple jobs and being a slave to someone who did do good in school. It's much more oppressive to teach kids only how to behave and not teach them much. The private school is your only hope of finding freedom. Going to private school can mean that your entire life is MUCH better.

Remember - easier is for people who want to live like slaves- without freedom.

My children spent there elementary grades in a catholic school. When they started middle school we moved them to public and our life has been so much better. The public high schools in our area offer college credit courses, they have extensive programs for those with good grades and those that want to excell. They offer soooooooo much more than the catholic schools. There is also the wide variety of people at cultres in public school and I think that our kids need that as they were far too sheltered in private shcool. I have several friends that went to catholic high school while I went to public, most of them did not go on to college but I did. I really think that is all up to the individaul no matter where they go to school. You will only get what you choose to get out of it. Catholic schools can be costly and you still won't come out any better for it in my opnion. If you want a good life and you want to go to college, you will no matter what. I say public shcool can be such a wonderful thing. I love that my kids get to mix with all types of people, thats what life really is, not the sheltered world of the catholic culture and shcool. Good luck to you hon and hope you get to do as you choose.

Some public schools are awful, some Catholic schools are awful. There will be a resource in your community, probably online, that actually lets you and your family compare by school rather than by type of school. Take a look at that if there is time.

Catholic schools are usually a lot stricter. I went to Catholic school. All I can say it that it was okay. I finally got to go to public school in 10th grade and I loved that.

NO! The place is mostly filled with nasty preps that only care about themselves. Believe me I know. I went there 2 1/2 months. I cried everyday I came home. It was terrible! I switched schools because of it. Do what you want, but I'm just warning you.
