it depends on the species you are fishing for. i mostly fis for largemouth bass and, crappie. the morgans point marina is usually pretty good early. this marina is located on lake belton. to get there, travel east on rancier ave. which turns in to f.m. 439. make a left across belton dam. you will go through 2 intersections and, pass a church on your right then, make a left on cheyenne. follow cheyenne around to the right and, make a left on calamity jane. this road takes
you into the marina. residence fishing license is $28.00 at walmart.

Heven't been there personally but I have a buddy who is from there and he says there is NO bad place to fish there. Check with Texas Department of Natural Resources or Dept of Wild life and they will be able to tell you, most likely online, what it costs for licenses, and where public waters are you can fish. I hear the line about Everything is Bigger in Texas holds true there. Get a good stout pole and hang on! Best of luck and tight lines!
