The amount of time doesn't matter. What matters is what the airline you are taking allows. The amount you can take and the amount that is charged for excess varies by origin and destination cities, and sometimes by the passport you carry. It is best to call the airline you plan to use and to find out what the limits and charges would be for your particular airline and flight.

Here's a link to the Northwest Airlines page on excess baggage. For international travel, they ask people to contact Northwest Reservations for questions on international baggage.

does depend on the airline but usually if you are staying for a while and on a long haul flight then you can usually take two 25kg cases each. if you go over these weights the excess is expensive anything from £40 - £90 depending on the airline so try and avoid going over. you can fit alot in two cases tho and clothes are cheaper in the states! hope this helps.

I would suggest you either check with your airline or Travel Agent. Enjoy your stay. Get some of that good New York style pizza while you're there!!!!

If you have your tickets it will be in the booking details, if not check.
Things have changed that much recently it would be better if you checked at source rather than taking someone's word for it on here.
