It's PERFECT for lasagna! I make the best lasagna around (per everyone that has tried it! People beg me for it!) and all I ever use is ricotta. Blend it with 1/4 cup parmesan and 1 cup mozzarella before you use it as a filling. (Plus an egg, some parsley, and some oregano.) It's so much better than cottage cheese. And it shouldn't be too watery. Stir it up. And buy quality stuff.

Ricotta cheese is perfect for lasagna. I add a handful of breadcrumbs and an egg or two to it to make a smoother consistency (and the crumbs absorb some of the liquid).. When there is tiime, I wrap the ricotta in cheesecloth, and hang it from my faucet and let it drip into the sink for a few hours prior to using it. It contains a lot of whey, which is a watery substance that exists in loose cheeses.
Ricotta tastes much like cottage cheese - but it has a more viscous and smooth texture.

Ricotta cheese naturally has no taste and is used in Italian dishes such as lasagna. I usually flavor my ricotta with an egg, some garlic powder and some parmesan before using it in my dish.

It looks like baby vomit and tastes like ricotta cheese. You may use it in your lasagne.

What you bought sounds like rocotta cheese. Personally, I prefer cottage cheese in my lasagna .. even though ricotta is the 'called for' cheese.

As above, lasagne. but you can also season it and stuff manicotti or ravioli with it. By itself it is pretty bland, but it's great as a filling.
