When you are in the sixth grade, the last thing you should have to think about is how mean your teacher is. I would suggest you talk to your parents about this. I would also suggest you write your feelings down, or speak into a recorder; get out all your feelings good and bad about 6th grade history. After you do this, see if your fear comes from him;;; is he really mean, or has he done some things that make you uncomfortable and you just don't want to deal with him? Are other kids afraid of him? If he is the problem, then he needs to be dealt with. Your parents will have to contact him and the school and the board to speak on your behalf. Get it all out. If your parents can't or won't help, find an adult who will. You can contact me if you feel alone. God bless

Often times you will find that the strictest teachers are the most passionate about their subject. If you adhere to their guidelines, then you may actually learn a good deal from them. All they are expecting of you is respect...both for the administrator (themselves) and for the subject. History is a difficult subject to get people interested in. Most school-agers don't really care what happened last week, let alone several centuries ago! It will be good discipline for you to pay attention.

the teacher-student relationship is no different than any other relationship.... you need to communicate your ideas... good or bad
If you're having a problem understanding the material... most teachers will allocate time to attempt to clarify the problem...

If your problem is personality conflict, you can't just drop the person from your life.... you need to learn how to adjust YOUR attitude to those who are in power ( THIS IS WHAT MOST OF STUDENT'S COMPLAIN ABOUT) Its a life lesson that's never on the syllabus....

just because your teacher is mean ... you've decided it is NOW your worst subject... Look inside yourself to evaluate what you might do to ease the tension

i've had mean teachers in the past and you have to follow their rules n get on their good side so then they'll be nice to you. but if it doesn't work and/or you can't handle the class contact ur principal and see if you can switch classes.

Wait until high school . We have this really cool teacher who lets us get by with some stuff. She said, she has to pick her battles.
