My legs hurt all day. For a week it was just the right leg. This past week it has been both legs and gradually moving up into my hip area. I drink plenty of water and I walk alot. The pain wakes me up in the middle of the night.

It could be restless leg syndrome. A doctor can prescribe something for this. I had a similar problem when my muscles would bunch up and I would not be able to sleep due to the pain. A massage will help loosen the muscles but I finally found that taking a multi-vitamin worked best for me (I take One-A-Day).
It can also be a temporary effect from strenuous exercising if you have a buildup of lactic acid in your muscles (this happens but too much will lead to cramping).
I'd suggest taking a vitamin and seeing if that helps. If not, a physician can try to help.

My daughter has the same problem. Potassium is what her doctor says. The doc also says the pain from one leg crap can last a couple of days. He says it is from my daughters muscles growing faster then the bone. I know the pain I rubbed her legs all night last night. Good Luck

it sounds like just regular cramps related to exercise...you said you walk alot.

Check your legs for ANY type of lumps. Just to make sure there isn't a blood clot of any kind. If you notice anything that resembles a lump go to the doctor IMMEDIATELY. Clots can spread and become deadly

If it's one spot in particular could be a blood clot, so be cautious. Most likely it's muscular. Try eating more potassium, like bananas. The water could be flushing too much out of your system.

Possibly a result of low potassium levels, or some other vitamin or mineral deficiency. If I were you I'd see a doctor for a check-up.
