I know I'm wrong. But why am I wrong?

Who told you gambling is a sin? Gambling is not a sin, drinking alcohol is not a sin, watching movies is not a sin, sex is not a sin.

Addictive gambling is a sin; gambling that takes food and clothes away from a man's family, gambling that puts a person in debt is a sin but playing a few games for fun; with a few bucks set aside for personal entertainment is not a sin.

Drinking alcohol is not a sin, getting drunk is a sin. Drunkeness takes away a person's control.

Sex is not a sin between married man and woman.

Even killing is not a sin; murder is a sin.

Do you get the idea? I'm a Christian but I tell you don't listen to Christians who just go shotgunning answers and labeling things as sin. Everything in its proper place is good. But everything can be used for harm.

Sin is our desire to live life our own way rather than checking in with God to learn the best way to live.

I have never found a Bible verse that directly says that gambling is a sin. I could be wrong, but I haven't seen it.

However, the Apostle Paul advised us to avoid anything that we found addictive. Any addiction is literally a "god" or "idol", and thus violates the first commandment (worship no other gods). This principle could apply to anything (like TV watching or spending too much time on the computer) that so dominates our behavior that it interferes with our other responsibilities.

If you gamble away your rent money, or you're too broke to put any money in the offering on Sunday because you ate, drank or gambled it away, that might be a sin.

There is nowhere in th Protestant Bible that teaches either drinking or Gambling as a sin. Thet are however practices that bring out the bad side of people. Drinkers of alcholic beverages believe that they opinion is the right one and refuse to listen to others, which is a trait shared by many but its really prevelant in the drinker. Gambling brings out the greed in people, so is frowned on by the generous religous community, thats all there is to these non-sins.

Life is not a gamble, God is always in control so there is no gamble in it. The only affect we can have is through our own choices of following Christ or not following him. To say that life is a gamble is to think that there is such a thing as "luck". Sorry, but luck doesn't exist either.

Well even lottery is a sin. Cause it is part of gambling. Trying to get money you did not earn. That's how some people look at it. I don't gamble. So I wouldn't know.

The first thing that someone should be considering is whether the idea of sin is actually real.

If God is supposed to be perfect how could She have made anything or anyone that wasn't.
Think about it. The idea of sin assumes certain things about God that seem highly unlikely.

First it assumes a God who is too incompetent to organize a simple educational field excursion and figure out a way to get all of the students home safely.

How likely is this that God would not be smart enough to come up with a plan for our salvation that is going to work?

It also assumes that God must have created us imperfect if we are sinners.

One might assume that God would be able to create someone perfect each and every time if he chose to. Assuming God is capable of this, then it follows logically that we must be perfect creations if we are actually creations of this perfect God.

Unless of course you are saying that God chose to create us imperfect.

If God created us imperfect then anything that may go wrong is Gods fault, not ours. This seems a bit illogical at best so I think that we need to assume that What God creates would have to be perfect.

If this is the case and Gods creations are perfect, then nothing that we can do could change what God created perfect and make it imperfect unless we think that we are more powerful than God is.

How likely is it that we the creation could be more powerful than the creator. I personally find this idea somewhat amusing, and a bit absurd.

Religion tells us that God is perfect. If this is true then it could hardly be logically for Gods creations to be considered to be anything less than perfect.

If this is the case then Nothing that we can ever do could possibly change this perfection that God willed, unless we were so powerful that our choices could override and change the will of God.

How likely is that????

Think about it.

The idea of sin is simple nonsense; a lie made up about God by religion.

Life is a journey. And in that journey you may come across a gamble or two. For the most part your life is what you make it.

Not so sure gambling is a sin, but killing people is, and George Bush has ordered the killing of thousands of innocent people.
