It's true. I'm from New Orleans, and allot of people don't believe this. As I'm sure you already know by now, New Orleans is below sea level, so people are buried above ground. There are graves that have been there for hundreds of years. Either from grave robbers or just curiosity seekers, some coffins have been opened or partially opened, and yes. in some of these coffins you can see bones.

I don't know if it true if you sister insists this. Possible.
And I don't know if there are open crypts with visible bones. Also possible. For what we saw on television last week, there's still a lot of chaos over there. Seems that the big America who wants to rule the world isn't able to manage their own problems...

It has happend before. Since the crypts are above ground and some are over 300 years old, it does not take much to damage them. If they are open you can see bones if they have not ben removed or turned to ash over time.

I would say it's possible if the water was high enough. During the flood of 93 here in Illinois there was enough water over a couple cemetaries that caskets were popping up out of the ground and floating down the street.

It's very possible. New Orleans does not bury below ground so in a flood the caskets could open. I've heard this from other people too.

They do not have open crypts with exposed bones at all times. the dead are treated with respect down here. if this was after Katrina it is possible to have seen such a sight I suppose.

During the flooding, many graves were disturbed. They are still working on so many things there.
