What would you like to know? I am a rescue rep for the Italian Greyhound Club of America Rescue and should be able to help or know where to get an answer.

Hehe. Well about last January i was about to get one of them. I had never actually seen one in life but i thought the pictures so cute and i thought they were just a smaller version of a greyhound. I searched online and got a lot of info about them. One thin i was quite fond of was that they hardly barked. So when i went to the breeders house, I heard all these dogs barking and i thought it was all the neighbors dogs. I ring the doorbell, walk inside, and I almost screamed when i saw how UGLY these dogs were. There were three itallian greyhounds jumping in my face! One kind of scared me because she wouldnt stop barking and when i reached down to pet her, she looked like she was about to bite me. I must say though, the puppies were the cutest! I tried holdong one but it kept yelping and squirming in my arms so i put it down and the breeder thought i didnt like it but i told her it kept yelping. I wasnt holding it wrong because the breeder held it the same way and all it did was squirm. She said there was only one puppy left and there were some people coming the next day to take a look at it so told me this would probably be my last chance to get one. I told her i would call her the next day and try to come before the other people but i threw the peice of paper she put her number on right after i got in my car. So yes, i do know something about italian greyhounds, DONT GET ONE!

I know they're very, very cute!
They're also social animals, so they need someone who can spend a lot of time with them. They are very sensitive to extreme heat and cold, so they should live indoors, and in the winter should have blankets and things to bundle in and should probably have sweaters for going outside. Also, because they are so small and fragile, they should be kept from a lot of high jumping and things because it could cause soreness in their joints as they get older.
But they're such cute a loveable dogs!

They are very loving dogs, not as delicate as they appear to be (although they do get cold!). They can be difficult to train and sometimes highstrung, but that could just be because I've only known rescued IT's. If you are thinking of getting this breed or any other, please research their breed characteristics to be sure they are a good fit for your household. A few useful links are provided.
