I'm looking into becoming a nurse that works in the maternity ward in the hospital. What is this job called? Just a "nurse" or what?? I'm stilll in high school, and it was just one of the careers I was looking into. Any information would be great!! thanks

Obstetrical nurse is the name given to professional people who care for pregnant women. There is a whole world of different fields you can go into. Do you like new babies? Or do you like helping people? When you go to college there is a test you can take to help show you where your interests are. And there is a book in the library where you can look up all the different vocations. The best job is the one that you love to do and could do for the rest of your life. The better you get at something the more you'll realize just how much you have to offer the world and true contentment in life comes from serving others. Good luck with all your choices.

you need to get your RN, and a master's is best so you can be on top of the food chain. A CNM is a certified nurse midwife, and they often work in maternity wards. The other nurses typically have RN's and just have a concentration in OB/GYN areas.

there are LPN's and RN's. Both can work in a maternity ward. If I were you, I'd go for the RN. They make more $$.
