"Some people who have frequent nosebleed problems, the cause could be the effect of vitamin overdose especially vitamin C. .................. Cultures with a diet rich in fish sources that include high levels of omega-3 fatty acids (especially the Inuit) have also been observed to experience a higher incidence of nosebleeds. Athletes and bodybuilders who supplement their diets with fish oil also report increased frequency of nosebleeds." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nosebleed#Causes

The Inuit are in a very cold climate that can freeze the mucosa lining and therefore make it more fragile and susceptible to nosebleeds.. Athletes breathe extremely rapidly drying out the mucosa making them more susceptible to nosebleeds. People who live in high pollution areas are also more susceptible to nosebleeds. People who sleep with a fan on in their bedrooms are more susceptible to nosebleeds

There are usually more factors involved than just the vitamin C. Vitamin C is water soluble and is flushed from the body if the person is making sure they are getting enough water. Most people are dehydrated and don't know it.

Hope this helps and good luck in finding the answer you are looking for.

Actually, I have found, IN MYSELF, a STRONG correlation between nosebleeds and LACK of vitamin C. During the winter, when I'm eating less fruit and the air is dry, my nostrils can get very raw and bloody, when I blow my nose in particular. This is controlled very easily, and surprisingly quickly, after I take large doses of C!

there is no possible way to overdose on vitamin C, because it is water soluable. the only way is if you have too much over an extended period of time, then you will turn yellow.
