I pay off my balance every month and charge quite a bit, but I get nothing in return for the credit card I currently use. I'm thinking of switching and I get offers in the mail everyday. I need anyone with good credit to let me know what you think is the best card to have -reward wise. What are you getting with your card use?

I like the Exxon Mobil Mastercard. It pays 1% on all purchase and 3% on gas purchases. This is about typical with decent reward programs but what I like best is how easy it is. You do nothing to claim your reward other than just buy gas at either Exon or Mobil. Every month the statement shows you what you earned and subtracts last month's earnings from your gas purchases. You don't have to file a claim, call an 800 number or any of the other BS many cards make you go through to get your reward.

The best card depends on your desires, if you like to travel with delta and or continental and charge a lot i recommend the american express delta skymiles card. they offer the standard 1 mile per dollar, but have a lot of double miles promotions and you can get 10-20k miles for opening an account. If you spend more than $25k per year thier business card is great as you get a 10,000 extra miles per year.

If you like gifts, gizmos, gift cars amex rewards is a good choice. If you spend a lot of money on gas one of the many gas station cards could give you 2-5% in gas rewards. Other cards offer 1%-5% cash back depending on your purchases. Chase and MBNA are huge rewards card companies you can fo their website and see all the different one they offer. The key is look for no annual fees or small ones depending on how much you shop. In my case i am happy to pay Amex $75 a year because i get $2000+ worth of miles per year.

I've got a travel awards card thru my credit union. Each dollar is a point. For 20,000 points, I can buy any airline ticket that costs less than $300. 30,000 points gets me a $500 ticket and 40,000 points gets me any ticket for less than $1000.
If I don't want to buy tickets I can turn in 15,000 for a deposit of $150 back onto my credit card.
The card costs me $49 per year.

Be sure to read the entire terms of any card you go for. The "rewards" are often buried under annual fees, higher interest, and sneaky crap like two-cycle average daily balance for computing interest (tons of people have fallen for that one).

I have a First National Platinum card that gives me points to redeem for things like gift cards at a good variety of stores. I like it because travel miles, etc. mean nothing to me. The card benefits also include roadside assistance, and double manufacturers warranty (I've used that three times and it's GREAT!) What's "good" depends on your lifestyle.
