I bought cheap candles (I know...kicking myself in the *** for beaing a cheapskate) and when we burn them they drip overly much. Anyone got a tricto slow this process down so that we can still enjoy them?

ps. lesson learned, next time I will buy no drip candles...lol

If you put them in the freezer first, this should slow down the dripping. I realize that once the candles are burning for a while, they are no longer frozen and you are back in the same place. However, give it a try, it helps for a while.

It seems you have learned your lesson. You can create a little homemade bobeche to catch the wax. Just cut out a cardboard circle about 1" - 1.5" larger than your candle. Cut out for your candle to fit in the center. Cover it with foil before placing it on the candle. Should help spare your table. Cheap candles usually have cheap wicks that burn lead in the center of the wick. Beware lead is hazardous to your body. If I were you I would throw these candle away, and just buy new.

Put the candles in a nice old wine bottle and enjoy the designs. Sorry nothing else comes to mind.

I personally haven't tried this, but I've read that if you put them in the freezer, it helps. I'm not sure how, but it's worth a try.
