Yes. But I'm always puzzled when someone says, 'yes, Swiss,' because there are so many Swiss cheeses. Normally they mean Emmentaler (the one with the big holes) which, if genuine has a wonderful nutty flavour. Gruyère (which has small holes) is great for cooking, and is often confused with Emmentaler outside Switzerland. Then there's Tête de Moine, Tilsiter, Vacherin (soft and smelly), Sbrinz (similar to Parmesan) etc. etc. etc. If you get the chance to got to a Swiss Fair, try the cheeses on offer.
That said, I still like a good Cheddar for cheese sauce, but I have to go to Germany to buy it.

Love it!! I'm not big on milk but I'll nibble on cheese anytime I need a snack--xtra sharp cheddar or a good swiss are my favs
