In agreement with most responses, do everything you can to achieve that end. As for Christians praying and vigils to God aren't going to accomplish much, if anything.
If your God gave you the materials to build a nest, does that mean he must also throw worms in the nest?
I think you must go out and work for them, just as Atheists and Agnostics do. Being Christian doesn't give you an edge. Just as much for peace as for worms.

Why would an atheist pray to anyone? They don't believe in a god. Agnostics pray to what ever unspecified being they choose.

You call yourself Agnositc, but you have to go onto Yahoo Answers to find out more about it?

To answer your question, you don't pray for peace. Peace will not happen by sitting at home and asking for it, no matter who you're asking. To acheive peace, everyone has to work together and find a common ground. Peace doesn't just happen, we all have to make it happen.

Well I don't pray for anything. When I want something I go out and try to obtain it or achieve it. Sometimes we just can't take the passive the role we have to dig in our heels, get out the shovels and build things ourselves.

I do not pray at all. Praying is a sissy way to say, well, I'm too weak to do anythin gabout it myself, so I'll just hope some mystical being will fix everything for me.

WE need to take action and take control of our lives.

You don't pray for peace, you WORK for peace. Passive prayer doesn't do any good at all. What-- is your god supposed to be a genie? Get off your *** and do something. Remember, "If you want peace, work for justice."

All that is necessary for evil to happen is for good men to remain silent.
