Yes, it is an amazing book. His scholarship is solid and well researched. Plus he is a student of Bruce Metzger who is a genius. If you haven't read it, I would recommend that you do. If you have done much graduate work in Biblical Studies, then you probably already know a lot of what he talks about in the book, but there are some new revelations that he has gleaned from his research that are extraordinarily interesting. An amazing book by an amazing scholar.
If you have read the book and enjoyed it, you would probably also enjoy "From Jesus to Christ" by Paula Fredriksen - another amazing read.

haha! a christian read?! what a joke, but seriously, hardcore christians are too content in their ignorance to allow in something that might challenge it. they are not even intelligently curious enough to find out how bart came across his information for fear he might be right. well anyway, maybe god likes his follwers docile to make it easy when he decides to turn on them. peace.
