Live to Ride, Ride to Live. Keep on riding until you no longer feel that you are competitive.

First of all, let me say that it's awesome you're a jockey. It takes guts. I've been riding for 7 years and i would be a jockey if I was small enough, but unfortuneately im not :(

But you should only quit when you feel its time. Good luck and have safe rides!

There's no set age to quit, Lester Piggott and George Duffield rode into their 60s, where as others have quit in their 20s and 30s.

As many others have said, you quit when you no longer enjoy it. Jim Culloty (best known for riding Best Mate) quit last year stating that he had become so worried about falling and hurting himself that he knew it was time to hang up his boots.

I don't think age should really have much influence on your decision of when you hang up the saddle. As long as your body stays healthy and able to take the strain of riding and you enjoy it, stick with it. If that doesn't help, ride as long as an owner and trainer are willing to hire you.

Hi,
If you are fit and in good health there is no reason you should quit.
