Not only is the term lake of fire from an ancient fairy tale. it is isn't even a good translation. Really it just described a hot tub party.
Lake of Fire is just a poor translation for "Hot Tub". Not that it is a true story anyway.

The better question this brings to mind, is why do Christians seem to get such joy from the idea that those who don't believe the same way they do will suffer from eternal torture. Seems like a pretty hateful religion if you ask me.

I'm sure I'll say something like, "Oh, if only I'd listened to those helpful, well-meaning Christians on Y!A when I had the chance! But now it's too late, and I have to spend all of eternity ruminating over how right they were, and how wrong I was."

Is that what you were hoping for?

You guys really get your jollies thinking about the non-believers' eternal suffering, don't you? Is that what your religion is really about, or is it just a twisted perversion that you've added to make it more fun?

OK I've heard of eternal damnation and hell, but never a lake of fire.
If that is the case, then I guess I will go for a very nice hot swim.

God wouldn't send me to the lake of fire because god does not exist and thus niether the lake of fire.

But should YOU decide to send me to the hot lake, I would remember to bring my fire extinguisher with me and be wearing my fire retardant swimwear.

Jesus Christ paid the price for me and I am not going to the Lake of Fire. I will be in heaven glorifying God, singing and dancing for joy eternally.

It seems that your god is so vain and vindictive that if you do not stroke it's ego by worshiping it in a highly proscribed manner, it tortures you for eternity in everlasting fire. Now that sounds like a highly disturbed creature that is hardly worthy of worship or respect.

God will say "PWNED!" and I'll say "O RLY?" and be cast into the lake of fire. The important thing is I'll get the last word in.
