What program are you talking about?

If WordPerfect, clk Format / Numbering / (choose which system suits you best)

If some other program, give us a hint.

TOC Table of content. Go to insert and click on reference and then you see table of content. open the table of content click on modify click fromat click numbering click outline numbered select and click ok
