I can tell you that most people on here are indeed christians but of course some are not. this world is made up of 70% christians and the rest or of different religions. hun you may have been mislead by your own believes or teachings. I left the christian religion on my own because I could see it was not for me. I have family that have all different believes and we respect each other not to talk religion (can be a powerful subject that can turn ugly ) I have kids and I teach them to respect all people and religions and to never be scared to follow there heart to what ever religion they find , but to always study each one to see what is there. I think that no believers are just speaking out because they can and they may just feel like after all these years they should not be treated different by christians and if you have learning any thing you will know that christians push there believes on others. Most of the reasons Christians are hated by non-Christians is because many of them lead a life of hypocrisy. Many so-called "Christians" do not actually follow the teaching of Christ--they shove dogma down everyone else's throats.

Also, are you sure that Christians do not blow people up? You really think that there are no such things as Christian terrorists? What you're saying is that the abortion clinic bombings that have happened so often are fake stories. Are you sure?

Most atheists do not HATE christian. Most of us have christians in our families and friends who are christians as well. We love them. However, when christians get on yahoo and start asking questions like "Do Atheists know they are going to Hell?" then we hit back.

As for your comment that christians dont go around "blowing up people". Check your history...Many wars were started by the christians, also recent US history has many abortion clinics bombed with people inside and doctors shot by christians, as well.

i think its mostly due to the fact that christianity is the biggest religion overall. it has many offshoot religions and variations, and at almost any given time, theres a christian themed program on television, usually commanding ppl to surrender their lives to jesus. atheists, or anyone of any other religion, typically find that offensive, but often take the same stance from the other side of the coin, asking someone thats a christian to stop believing completely because they feel just as strongly that theres no god.

overall, nobody can prove if theres a god, what religion he'd want us to follow, etc. theres also no way to prove theres NOT a god, and that any religion ISNT the right one. i think that any faith is good, until you stop questioning yourself and your faith. the idea of faith is that we dont have all the answers, but you can find something that you connect with deep inside of you. 90% of all major religions have the same principles, and yet, may of us chastise each other. if we all could just say "what do you believe in? ..... oh, thats cool... i'd like to learn about that, and if you'd like, i'll share what i believe too", we'd all be way better off.

You are making an unwarranted assumption, with your use of the word 'hate'. The fact remains, though, that Christians are a much more immediate, serious and insidious threat than a bunch of suicide bombers. They are a threat from WITHIN. Christian 'Dominionists' (Reconstructionalists, Theonomists) have largely usurped the local level political apparatus of the Republican Party, and are engaged in a sub rosa process to politically motivate moderate Christians under the false cover of religious issues such as morality and family values. The goal is nothing less than the takeover of all elective offices in the USA.

Their doctrine comes from the Bible, starting with the term 'dominion' at Genesis 1:28... “And God said unto them, [Adam and Eve] Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have DOMINION… over every living thing.” They interpret DOMINION as: “... a supremacy in determining and directing the actions of others or in governing politically, socially, or personally.”

They want to remake the USA as a theocracy... and they are succeeding.

Its most common form, Dominionism, represents one of the most extreme forms of Fundamentalist Christianity thought. Its followers, called Dominionists, are attempting to convert the laws of United States so that they match those of the Hebrew Scriptures. They intend to achieve this by using the freedom of religion in the US to train a generation of children via home-schooling and in private Christian religious schools. Later, their graduates will be charged with the responsibility of creating a new Bible-based political, religious and social order. One of the first tasks of this order will be to eliminate religious choice and freedom. Their eventual goal is to achieve the "Kingdom of God" in which much of the world is converted to Christianity. They feel that the power of God's word will bring about this conversion. No armed force or insurrection will be needed; in fact, they believe that there will be little opposition to their plan. People will willingly accept it. All that needs to be done is to properly explain it to them.

All religious organizations, congregations etc. other than strictly Fundamentalist Christianity would be suppressed. Nonconforming Evangelical, main line and liberal Christian religious institutions would no longer be allowed to hold services, organize, proselytize, etc. Society would revert to the laws and punishments of the Hebrew Scriptures. Any person who advocated or practiced other religious beliefs outside of their home would be tried for idolatry and executed. Blasphemy, adultery and homosexual behavior would be criminalized; those found guilty would also be executed. There are two conservative Christian pastors in Texas who have advocated the execution of all Wiccans. Ralph Reed, the executive director of the conservative public policy group the Christian Coalition has criticized Reconstructionism as "an authoritarian ideology that threatens the most basic civil liberties of a free and democratic society."

By failing to openly confront this insidious agenda, we have sown the seeds of our own destruction, while these religious wing-nuts are paving the way to Armageddon with gleeful anticipation.

And, what do you say about the Crusades and the Inquisition? They killed thousands upon thousands in Europe and the Middle-east.

Richard the Lionheart beheaded 3,000 of Saladin's captured soldiers at Jaffa. That is why he is called ''Lionheart''-he had the cold heart of a lion.

And, I am sure you know what the Catholics did to the ''Golden Age'' of Spain.

How about the Crusades, the Inquisition, the burning of witches, and wasn't Hitler a christian? So many deaths can be contributed to religion, it is a surprise it is still around.

Because followers of Christ don't usually act like it. They fell that they have a "holier than thou" attitude, and that shouldn't happen. They should be like the brothers and sisters in China and India. Then they wouldn't have that "holier than thou" attitude that we do in America.
