I`m not trying to be rude, but why don`t you consider adopting a shelter animal instead? I find it so irritating that these breeders create dogs and slap designer names on them. There are already so many cute little babies in shelters all over the world, and hundreds get euthanized every day.

Instead of $500, you could pay just a small price and save a shelter dog that is probably cuter than those old designer dogs.

Should it matter if they have the breed you need? Dog-owning is not a popularity contest. Just because Paris Hilton has her little "teacup" runts everywhere she goes doesnt mean the rest of the world should go out and get "designer" dogs.

If you are looking for a low cost animal remember that a female will need to be spayed.
Any dog breed crossed with a poodle will normally have the poodle type coat that requires regular grooming - another expense, occuring every 4 - 6 weeks.
With a purebred puppy you will at least know what it will turn out like. Do a bit of research on the web to discover what type of breed will suit your lifestyle. Do not buy on impulse. This puppy will be a lot of work 24/7. It will be like having a toddler to look after.
There are many shelter animals that need good homes, here in Australia they are spayed before going to new homes.
Lastly a Lhasa cross will probably not be ideal for children as the Lhasa is known for its grumpy attitude.

First of all, why do you "need" this dog? It's not an accessory or something to show off..its a companion that requires care 24/7. Also, Lhasas are known for their unpredictable temperament, especially around small children. Not a good choice. Whats wrong with compromising a little and getting a small/medium size mix from a shelter?

I don't know where you live but sometimes they have them in the Syracuse papers. Post Standard. Also you could look on Petfinders.com and type in what you want. They have all sorts on there. When I was looking for a dog I saw lhasa and sitzues(sp) mixed in the papers, but I ended up getting a dachshund instead because I didn't know what they were. Now I do and they are cute looking little dogs.

I know what you are going through with the people saying get them from shelters. You are right. They don't always have what you want , and then some have such medical problems that cost a lot of money to take care of. Also you don't know how they were treated before you get them. If they were abused and how they are going to be around othe r people and kids. Yes, I know sometimes they tell about all that, but they say they won't let them go if that is the case. But you never know if something might have slipped passed them. to me I think it seems like the younger people are the ones who can't take care of their animals and they are the ones who end up in shelters. Plus some elderly people feel sorry for them and end up taking in too many. Like that one woman just recently on the news who was a shelter care provider herself. She had over 274 cats in her house. They are so sick and a lot of the will have to be put down. Yes I feel sorry for the animals, but we can't be expected to take care of all the animals some one else had. I have enought to feed and I love mine, and I take care of them. I would not let them run loose. I just had another dog given to me because someone came up with the story that he was trying to find the owner who lost it. I took it and had given it's shots, then gave her to a woman whose dog just died in July. I know the dog will be taken care of, but I gave her two weeks to make sure it will work out. If it doesn't I will get her back and just keep her myself. Maybe if people would get their animals fixed that are not breeders, then maybe their wouldn't be so many in shelters.

Sorry for talking your head off. Good luck with looking and if I see anything I will let you know. Have a nice night.

coz U NEED a lhasa poo LoLz coz of the cool name rite?

Grow up. I've had three shelter dogs, two of whom had no problems whatsoever and were only in the shelter because their original family's circumstances changed. The other had been abused and was dog-aggressive. We took him in because we knew we could handle him, and because nobody else would. He was scarred, nervous and desperate and we gave him a happier life than he ever could have had in the shelter. Try thinking of your companion's needs above your own NEEDZLOL, also known as "wants" in English, for a second.

look to see if there is a lhasa poo rescue association in your area. You can also call rescue organizations for other breeds and they might be able to tell you where to find one.

lhasa's are nasty little dogs. if you just want a mutt puppy, look in the paper. there are tons of 'poo' crosses. When you buy a mutt you really don't know what their personality will be like so it really doesn't matter.
