A saint is a person who has attained higher place in this world because of his good Karma. He has left all his worldly desire and is busy in curing the pains and sufferings of common people.
Everybody has got some amount of saintly and evil nature in them but it depends on a person, which nature he wants to develop within himself. Generally it is very easy to fell down so most of the people indulge themselves in evil or selfish deeds. On the other hand it is very difficult to climb, to leave your worldly desires and to live for others so there are very few saints in the society.

I don't believe I am a saint. I am a follower of Jesus. I worship and serve the Lord. I live the Word of the Lord and I share the Word of the Lord with others. A "saint" is a holy person and is often used in reference to "Christians", but it has also been used to create "idols". Acts 9:41, Romans 1:7 and 1 Corinthians 14:33 all discuss "saints".

I don't think there is a verse that says "christians are saints" but there are quie a number of places where Christians are called saints (61 times) The word is just used interchangeably with the word Christian.
Examples
Romans 12:13 contributing to the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality.
Romans 15:25 but now, I am going to Jerusalem serving the saints.
Romans 15:26 For Macedonia and Achaia have been pleased to make a contribution for the poor among the saints in Jerusalem.
Romans 15:31 that I may be rescued from those who are disobedient in Judea, and that my service for Jerusalem may prove acceptable to the saints;
Romans 16:2 that you receive her in the Lord in a manner worthy of the saints, and that you help her in whatever matter she may have need of you; for she herself has also been a helper of many, and of myself as well.
Romans 16:15 Greet Philologus and Julia, Nereus and his sister, and Olympas, and all the saints who are with them.
