Replace micro fuse on the underside of the DVC pcb. Then replace the laser if the fuse is ok. Clean the cd laser pickup lens and the cd assembly slide rails.

If you tried a known working DVD and it says "no disc" and there is no trouble shooting guide answer to your particular model (which you could find on-line at the manufacturer's website, if you cannot find your manual), then it is time to buy another DVD player. They are so cheap, that nobody repairs them around where I live.
If it is a more expensive one, I would still check about repair costs. Even better, see if it is still under warranty.
You may try unplugging it and re-plugging it 30 seconds later to reset it. Go through the setup menu and make sure it is properly set up for your Video/TV setup. You may even try different input choices to see if that clears whatever glitch it is encountering.

it could be a number of reasons. you don't take care of your junk.
your cd/ dvds are scratched. the lense is dirty. the dvd payer is broken (if that happens then pawn it and grab quick cash before they realize it don't work). rub your cd/ dvds with a paper towel
and rubbing alcohal to get rid of dust/ fingerprints and what make be stuck inside the scratches. oh, yeah. they got cd/ dvd protectors so your stuff won't get scratched-- go look for 'em.
cut a circle the size of the dvd/cd and apply the rubbing alcohal
so that it "sticks". put it inside the dvd player and it should'nt be
able to read the disc as normal. push the eject button a few times
to keep cleaning the lense to the dvd player could read your disc.
it should work. if it doesn't than i recommend the scam at a pawn shop.
