You don't move in together until you can talk openly about what to do if you break up and how you would deal with an unwanted pregnancy, a crippling accident, or the loss of a job and financial hardship.
When you can discuss those things openly you may be close to being ready.

I would give it atleast a year before I moved someone in with me. This gives you time to know this person as a lover and a friend first. It just feels more comfortable for me this way. You have to go with your heart though. If you feel that the connection is great and you guys are really good for each other then go for it, just make sure you feel like your doing the right thing. You don't want any regrets. Make sure he's responsible and respectful above anything else. Good luck!!!!

Never long enough, but how did you know about my past problems? Honestly, when you think its time... wait a little longer or at least just try sharing an apartment for a month but keeping the other just as a backup in case things don't work.

I tried the route and is a pain in the neck. Have your own place. That way if things get bad no body is going to be throwing you out. I think is best to live apart unless you are planning to married that person soon. Think about it good.

there's no set amount of time. just be realistic. there's a real good chance it won't last, so don't go making big purchases with him until you know him. (that takes longer than you probably think). just make sure to keep enough money set aside so you can move out if you break up. i broke up with a girl six months before our lease ran out, and neither of us could afford to move out. not fun. be careful

the length of time is really not the issue when you're considering to live in with a guy. the RIGHT thing to do is.... get married with this person first before you consider even living under the same roof. you are a precious creature in God's eyes and you are HiS princess... you are worth waiting for.
