I had to laugh at this question - the question, not the asker. I laugh because I tend to be a bit long winded when it comes to answers. I usually take the questions that make me think. I'm not on here just to rack up points. I don't really look at this as a game as much as I do an opportunity to learn and share what I know with other people.

To answer your question - no, I don't ever abuse the asker.

I'm not sure what you're getting at, but it seems to me that in the area of relationships, for instance, if a girl asks a guy if he loves her, and he can't give a quick "yes", then maybe he doesn't really love her.

Or if a parent asks a child where he or she was and he can't give a straight answer, then maybe the child is trying to hide something.

But if it's a deep, thought-provoking question, then it might take time to formulate your answer in a manner that's meaningful to the asker.

All in all, I guess it really depends on the question, the relationship between the asker and the one being asked, and the intent behind the question.

It IS possible for the asker to be hurt by a delayed answer, but wouldn't you want an honest answer that causes pain over a phony answer that "tickles the ear"?

But I wouldn't call that "abuse", per se.

No. Some people ask genuine questions and are really looking for opinions! I think it's only right to be fair with your answers.
