When the plane is taking off or landing, the passengers must turn off all electrical devices--one stewardess said any device that uses batteries. But when you are in the air you may use any electrical device other than pagers and cell phones. However, if the device has wireless capabilities, the wireless must be disabled.
So I suppose that means you can use a laptop, so long as the wireless is turned off.
EDIT: Last I traveled by air, which was just a couple weeks ago, they would let laptops on the planes but if you had them in your carryon luggage you would have to take them out during the security check.

It used to be allowed but not when the "seatbelt" sign was on. Now you can't even have a laptop with you on the plane (on SOME flights) so I would contact the airport before take off to make sure if they are allowed on your flight.

i've got performed 3 trans atlantic flights that were13-18 hours in era (alongside with layovers) with my daughter. First one she became decrease than 2 and the protection stress nonetheless bought her a seat. If the youngster does not have his own area I relatively recommend procuring one extra seat. there is not any way which you will not bypass insane if he has to take a seat on your or your individuals lap the full way. extraordinarily while you're in financial equipment it rather is going to be annoying to even devour if the infants is on your lap. The airline in no way mentioned something to me some automobile seat, she became 21 months on the 1st flight and that i in simple terms buckled her into the lap belt interior the airline seat. My daughter did wonderful on the flights, in simple terms had to stroll around a pair circumstances. i'm often not an recommend of utilising meds for makes use of alternative than what's meant, yet there have been a pair mothers and fathers on those flights that would have used some benadryl, could be functional if he's as lively as you assert.

I use my laptop on every commercial flight I am on. I've used it in first, business, and coach, and yes, there are plugs in each class to charge.
I've also used in on a plane I was piloting, but that's a little harder to manage.

On most aircraft I have worked on recently,
(newer aircraft), there is a power jack to plug it into in Bussiness class and First class. In cattle(economy) class there is not. But you may use your laptop once the pilot authorises you to after takeoff

I have; but mostly on one of my private jets. Just ask a flight attendant or better yet, ask at the check in desk.
