PLEASE DON'T TAKE THIS THE WONG WAY! I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT EVERYONE!
I know that many Christians ARE NOT fanatics. One of my best friends is a Christian and I am an atheist and he doesn't try to force his religion on me.
However, when I come on Yahoo! Answers, I see many questions asked by atheists who are merely curious as to why people believe in God, and they end up getting lectured by Christians about how they are heathens and they need to "find their way" and how they are just insecure about themselves and other BS like that.
Why can't some Christians just accept that some people DO NOT believe in some higher power? Why do they feel a need to shove it down everyone's throats?

I know that there are fanatics for other groups, but Christians have personally attacked my views on numerous occasions on and off this site, and I am merely curious as to why. If you can't accept my curiosity and give me a respectable answer, then don't.

I am neither Christian or atheist, but I see a lot of attacks from both sides. Spirituality is an inidividual journey, everyone is different, everyone finds their own way and comes to their own conclusions. I myself believe in some form of higher power, although I'm not sure what or who this power is. I don't think we'll ever know for sure, it could even just be nature.
But there are fanatics on both sides, I'll admit I love to provoke Christians and atheists both for fun of the reactions I get. Some people hold onto their theories so fanatically. We don't know, we can't prove one way or the other if there is a God, it's all theory. Hope that helps, don't let them get you down.:)

SOME Christians also believe all other religions are wrong, and they MUST change that.
Christianity and Islam are both universal religions, feeling everyone should accept their respective religions. But I find Christians the most obnoxious of the two.
I get so tired of them talking about how Islam is this way. They should take a good look at themselves.

okay first i would like to apologize for the christians that have shoved there religion at you. God is so good, im sure their intensions were the best some people dont fully understand how to witness to someone so they end up sying your going to burn in hell. What there trying to tell you is about how good God is and how awazing he is. but sometimes they cant express them selves the way they want to. As long as there are christians all the earth they will NEVER accept that you belive that we all of the sudden exisited, because thats crazy, when you are a christian and you trust god as you savior you have a constant feeling of security. We just want you to receive the amazing gifts of the creator of the heavans and the earth.

Some people just don't have enough personality or intelligence to question life, culture or religion. Christian fanatics just grasp on to one thing, because they need something in there lives and feel they are being righteous by defending their beliefs at all costs. I personally have no room for people like this in my life. If you can't be open minded enough to consider others viewpoints, even if you disagree, then you are no better than a white supremacist bigot or a Muslim terrorist.

Why are you only noticing Christians?
Have you ever noticed fanatical Atheists?
Have you ever noticed fanatical Muslims?
Have you ever noticed fanatical Bush Bashers?
Every group has its fanatics. The fact that you single out Christians however, is interesting. The others don't seem to affect you personally. Perhaps you dismiss them more easily.
The fact is most Christians are considerate to other people. However, it is impossible to make all of them more accepting.

I like that you said some and not just all. That's respectful and unusual on this site. Anyway, my best friend's mom is one of those fanatics, and she terrifies me. I think maybe it has something to do with the way their lives are. Maybe they feel they need God more than others.

The people who are so fanatic just try to save you. If you don't believe in God they think you must end up in hell.
So don't condemn them, but smile if you don't believe in what they tell you. I believe in God myself, but I also think that if you lead an honest life and you try to make the best out of it that should be fine.

every people group has it's fanatics, religious and atheistic alike, you just perceive Christians to be particularly fanatical because you are an Atheist, if you were a Christian you'd start noticing the Atheist fanatics more.

Some People want to share what they have (sometimes annoyingly) others are just self richeous zealots that need to calm down. You have every right to not believe in a higher being. (I'm a Christian)
