You can get a bus out to Kanchanaburi from the Southern Bus Terminal at Pinklao-Nakorn Chaisri Road..

In Kanchanaburi, it will be easy to move around either by taxi or tuk-tuk. The destinations you are heading for are pretty well-known so it is not difficult at all.

Well, take a bus from Sai Tai Mai to Kanchanaburi. The bus fare might be around 70 baht. When you get to Kachanaburi, you can rent a motorbike which is about 250 baht per day. Then get a map from local shop. Death Station and Bridge are in the town. You will need only around 2 hours to spend for phototaking, and traveling time. Since you put etc in your question, it makes abit hard to answer. Coz travelling time depend on where you want to go. There is one big waterfall in Kanchanaburi. The name is Erawan waterfall. If you go there, one day is not enough for you. Thats about trip in Kanchanaburi. Price will be different if you choose other mode of transportation. If you dont want drive motorbike, you can rent motorbike taxi too. It will be around 500 baht perday. May be abit higher now. Coz of increasing oil price.
Ok..I hope you are clear now. Have a good trip...

Just for your information there is no bridge as you may have seen in the movie. That was destroyed during the war. The bridge most people talk about is just a railway across the river.
