PremPalmer,The bible itself is many, many inspired writings over thousands of years with God updating many times. jesus updated law, paul updated what jesus and deciples did,by your concept every thing but genesis is wrong and not to be believed.God did not quit inspiring men, when a lot of scripture was condensed into the bible and the bible is certainly not the only WORD of GOD.

rimail,I do believe the bible was written by inspired people, and has stood the test of time.however the bible was compiled by plotical powers, using clerics subject to their rule,I believe much was with held from the bible. Today we see churches declining because God is going around them to usher in Metaphysical Spirituality, as JESUS started 2000 years ago.

ZEUSI, I would not argue with you ,I'm given that all religions and their "bibles" are being fulfilled and superceded by Metaphysical spirituality.(WORSHIPING GOD IN SPIRIT)

1 John 4

"Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world."

But since you can fool yourself, or be fooled by others, there will always be a subjective doubt here. So th argument for scripture would that at least it had a lot of people over a lot of time all thinking about the message before including it in the bible as 'official', whereas someone pronouncing their "in spirit" message only has their own short term experience and opinion to justify it.

The Bible was inspired by the Holy Spirit God. I believe people can still be inspired by the Holy Spirit, but that is hard to prove true--I would saynot to trust it unless it follows what we know to be true from God's own Word.

Only if the word in spirit is consistent with the bible, will people believe it, or if the pastor accepts it, its all a con, i went to church with my sister and started saying some mambo jumbo and everyone taught I was speaking in tong, and I told them I did not have control of what I was saying and they believed me, because I was consistent with others that had spoke in tong before, I made it all up though.

Update, a strange person in a church that is using mambo jumbo there will be no one to interpret because, the interpreter does not know the person and wold look like a fool, when the actor reviled himself, its all a con in my opinion, you must understand that Christianity was forced upon people, then you will understand the con used to force us to do many other things. I'm not trying to bash you are your question I'm just telling you what I have learned and believe, nothing more. thanks

What "spirit" are we talking about.

If it is the "Holy Spirit" it is still no. We are warned not to add to the Bible. The scriptures are complete.

Christ referred to Himself as "fully in Spirit". He was the truth and the way - the Word of the Lord.
