Only have Park, Reverse, Neutral, and Overdrive....Previous owners replaced transmission and now there's no LOW gear. I can shift the column to it, but it's still Overdrive....I also have to shift all the way down on the column, then back up to R for Reverse. Does anyone if this can be fixed or shall I just deal with not having a LOW gear and shift strangely? THANK YOU!

The transmission has what are called shift levers mounted on the side of the housing, and there is a good chance the linkage to the levers connection is not tight, causing to not be able to go to the farthest position which would be low gear.
This could be repaired by someone tightening the connectors and with the transmission having been previously replaced, they probably did not tighten the connectors enough.

well.... i think the trany is gone and you will soon lose those gears as well. mine started with a small thud, then OD went then very soon after they all went. good luck:) have a back up plan before driving to far just in-case!

Check the linkage adjustment.
Sounds like the guy put the linkage in wrong

Fix it or you will burn the clutch packs. maybe vacumm modulator a cheap part. Change fluid and filter.

Be sure the kick down cable is hooked up.

taurus have tranny problems. I bet you that this new tranny is just bad. Ford did a crappy job on these
