it seems like this happens to me alot. i meet a girl, get attached, and THEN she starts talking about her ex-boyfriend/husband... someone help, please.

From the sound of it, it sounds like you don't know these girls very well. Get to know them better. Although some girls who talk about their ex-boyfriends are still hung up on them, others (like myself) talk about them openly because they either want to improve on what failed in their last relationships, or they just want to confide in you, perhaps because of insecurities. Get to know them better before you get attached, and the rest will follow.

Start the conversation out when you meet a young lady with, "so when was your last relationship"? If she says "just recently" then you should avoid those types, if she says "over seven or more months" she should be over or nearly over the last guy. Listen to what they have to say on the first date and you could save yourself a lot of trouble in the end.

you'll find many women have hard time letting go
men are ar better that women in general at moving on, once a relationship has broken up.
if i was you i would set a low threshold for how much you are willing to put up with ( for me it's very little )
once you GF hits that thresh hold
you dump her plain and simple and do not give her any 2nd chances
she needs to be taught a lesson, and i guarantee you she go on doing that type of behavior so as long as she think it's OK to do so or she keeps finding guys like you who allow it
to some extent it's your fault as you allow such behavior to go on unchecked

Just stay away if they are involved, or were involved with others recently. It could be that you ask them about their old partners... If so, dont. If its a while after you have been dating, you may want to reconsider your conversations. If they are bringing their old loves into conversation, something may be lacking.

figure out the girls past relationships before dating her.....if she talks a little too in-depth about them then you might want to reconsider
or if you want to keep the girl you have, try to get her over her last boyfriend/husband
