I'm not Catholic, so I'm not sure what Catholics do after communion.
I personally find that after communion, I feel the walls that I have put up between me and God fall away.
So, after communion, I return to my knees and simply rest in God's presence.
(of course, if my 4 year old, is acting crazy, it can be a challenge!)
peace to you and your family

Are you a Roman Catholic??? Well, the church doesn't give us basic guidelines on what to pray or ask for... Well, if you were to ask me, i would thank God for the life i have and for all the things that he has provided for, your life most especially... Well that's basically it!! It's no use reciting prayers like Our Father and Glory Be, because we usually don't know what they mean, and usually take these for granted!! It would be better to pray for something which is from your own heart... Not something that you have memorized...

You can pray for anything you want to pray for. Praying for your family members, friends and all is fine. Don't you want any of those that may not have Jesus in their heart to want Him? Not wrong to think of those that do not serve Him, is it? How about a prayer that asks for you to be a good witness to those around you so you may be the catalyst that will bring someone to God? Don't ever be afraid of asking a stupid question as the only stupid one is the one that you don't ask.

Mostly thanksgiving for His coming into the world and into my heart. I tend to pray for others before during the prayer of the faithful. You are not stupid. Please do not ever think so again. Sometimes the best prayer is silence and love.

Actually, I believe you need to repent and be fully aware of your wrong doings before recieiving communion. I review my week and thank the Lord for all He has given me. I ask His forgiveness for the things I have done that were not pleasing to Him. I ask Him for strength and courage for the days to come - to help me resist temptation. After accepting the body and blood of Christ, I thank the Lord for giving His Son for our salvation.

I like to use the time to talk with Jesus--I thank Him, praise Him and then ask for His strength with personal issues--if I get the chance! Sometimes it is hard to focus since I attend Mass with my 5 small children!
