The god botherers don't bother god, he never listens to them, nor does he talk to them.
The creation of the universe was but a momentary diversion in the mind of god. it wasn't properly thought through because he decided that it was not a good idea and decided not to carry on with it. He played around with the idea of the dinosaurs for a bit longer than he did with the idea of human beings.
41/2 billion years seem like a long time to us, but its almost nothing to god.
Religion is a complete delusion and red herring. All the holy books were written by men, some mad, some bad, all deceivers.
We 're on our own here and now, so we better make the best of it.

Imagine a huge ball of mud spinning around in the universe. God says I'd like to create a man, he will be like me and have the power of creation and the power over his own mind so let me get the ball rolling.
He sends to that ball of mud the appropriate bacteria to begin the life that eventually become Homo-sapean and thus mankind begins to see and feel the presence of his creator and the angels over the earth and they begin to believe in him and mold their cultures to worship him as others worship their ancestors and yet others the spirits of the earth and still others great men of their own time.
I am christian, but I find the Bible is just a book of good stories to illustrate the religion. Evolution is still happening today so how can one say it didn't happen then that God created everything in 7 days? So that's what i believe in evolution. Food for thought, find you own way.

Where did you get the idea that God took 4 1/2 billion years to put man on it? Right from Darwin. I don't believe that, I believe the Bible, the same book that tells us God created man also leads us to believe that the earth is only a few thousand years old. You need to either accept the one or the other, but if you accept the Bible accept the whole thing.

Where did you get that information?

The first original creation in Genesis 1:1 is called the dateless past, no one knows how long it last. Then suddenly Genesis 1:2 it is submerge in water. And in Genesis 1:3 The re-creation of the ruined earth, a literal 6 days re-creations.

The Question you should ask is HOW LONG DID ADAM STAYS SINGLE? AT WHAT AGE ADAM GET MARRIED? WHO WAS THE FIRST BORN OF ADAM? This is a more challenging question for everybody to ponder with. Don't you think so?

That's funny.
god botherers....that's a new one.

How the heck do we know?

I can say, though, that there is no linear time for Him.
2Peter 3:8 says: But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day [is] with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

There are other issues of Christophanies and such but this is two points worth.

Because TIME is human concept. God is above and beyond time. In any case if He wanted to take 4.5 billion years (a figure that is incidentally debateable) as he is ALL POWERFUL why not?

I have asked this question myself. They have no answer, if it ain't in the bible they dont know it. They will deny dinosaurs were here and say 1 day is a different length of time than 1 day. All i can say is, you can't educate pork
