Seriously, go to a public library, check out a couple of books, search on the internet, instead of letting other people do your work for you. Just plain lazy...

The causes of the American Revolution were not exactly one particular event. The causes consisted of many events throughout many years before the actual war. The laws encated by the Parliament upon the American colonies such as the Stamp Act and the Tea Act. Many American colonists were persuaded into the revoultionary spirit with works such as Common Sense, by Thomas Paine. Many American colonists felt underrepresentated in Parliament and felt that Britaih imposed laws on them with ignorance towards the American society and its condition. Events such as the Boston Tea Party were results of the acts, this one in particular, the Tea Act. In the Boston Tea Party, members of the Sons of Liberty dressed in Cherokee Indian dress, boarded a British tea ship, and destoryed the tea boxes and thre them into the water. The Boston Massacre was another event that ultimately spurred the American's revolutionary spirit against Britain and led to the battles at Lexington and Concord in the "shots heard 'round the the world."

someone is gonna give you a great big wikipedia answer, but the straw that broke the camels back was "taxation without representation".

that means that all the ppl that were here in the US (the colonists) didnt have anyone to represent them in the british parliament. so, the guys running the show in britain were charging them taxes that they just couldnt afford, especially when trying to survive the winters over here and run a settlement. they got sick of it and said "hell no! we're not paying that, its not fair". when britain didnt seem to care and still wanted the money, the colonists decided to become a whole new country, which again, britain didnt wanna hear, and thats when they went to war.

interesting footnote, in about a decade after the war, some of the ppl that ran the show in the US were becoming just as bad as the ones that they fought to overthrow.

Yeah, right. This is the right forum to get this answer. Read a book or two, instead of wasting your time on a computer. Heaven forbid that you might learn something by yourself.
