But then John said... I saw a new Heaven and Earth. This would be a creation w/o sin... so perfect and not corrupted!

I haven't figured that out myself, other than they want to be with God.
Who knows, when we get there we may not like it. What makes anyone thing heaven is a dream world. We know for a FACT God works and God works had, afterall he rested on the 7th day.
Everyone knows there are Guardian Angels.
Do people think they are going to get to heaven and sit on Cloud 9 all day and night!
What if Peter or Paul or Gabriel hands you a broom and says, clean up eternity and you have to do that forever!
What if you get made a Guardian Angel for those left on Earth or you find out God created other worlds and needs people to Supervise!
IT's 24/7/365 job with no breaks, no lunches, no days off. You don't need them. You're eternal! You don't feel any different in a chair than you do on your feet.
People also have to answer to God for the damage they've done in life. Almost every Christian in the World drives a car and dumps pollutants into God's atmosphere. What if God asks you about this and tells you that was a BAD thing to do!
What if EVERY Christian who drives a car has the "mark of the beast" on them.
We don't know what awaits us.
We would be MUCH better off trying to make the world a nicer place to live for everyone!

They believe God is coming back to do a "Do Over" on Earth. He's going to wipe away all the sin and evil and set up a paradise to last 1000 years. It's called the Rapture and the Apocalypse.
It's used to keep the faithful from questioning their faith, and to keep them in line with fear and false promises. Religions have done this millions of times throughout history.

I don't think it is so much the end that they are looking forward to, but the promise of a new beginning.
Most people in today's society don't take the time to pay attention to all the wonders that we have on this beautiful planet.
It is much easier to have hope for something better than it is to make something better for ourselves.

Yes the Earth is majestic, and the sky full of stars etc, it's the PEOPLE that are the problem, maybe deep down we realise that we are the equivalent of a cancer to this planet and are praying for a surgical intervention before it's too late. nuff said

Because when Jesus comes there will be no more suffering and destruction once the wicked are burned up and we will witness the creation anew but with much more the way it was in the beginning before sin came into the world. No more cold or extreme heat, drought and pestilence. Why would anyone not want to see that happen?

Because their religion is a death cult. At the core, they are really no different than the Jim Jones, David Koresh, and Heaven's Gate wing-nut death cults.
It is absolutely demented, when you think about it.
"When one person suffers from a delusion, it is called insanity. When many people suffer from a delusion it is called Religion." ~ Robert M. Pirsig

you are very mistaken. God does not want man to worship the creation, only the creator. every thing that you see with your eyes will one day soon be gone. it is not real, what you can't see is real. the kingdom of heaven is real. every thing that you see in nature is Gods way of pointing to himself, and his word. if you read the book of revelation it will tell you

I glad I'm not the only one who thinks this way!
God has given us so much; why, indeed, should we put all our focus toward a "second coming," when God is all around us, giving and beauty and love?
peace to you and your family
