Where can i download free editing music software for OS of Win XP Home, i would like some editing software that will allow me to cut parts of a song and copy them on to a "blank" one to make a song.
IE i want to copy parts of songs and put them together

This answer isn't going to be very helpful, but maybe it will point someone in the right direction...
I once heard on National Public Radio about a band (this was a popular band, not a smaller garage band) that was experimenting with re-mixing music and had been searching online for amatuer re-mixed music and had been surprised by the quality they found there. The band then developed their own software and offerit free on their Website. They were also running a contest at the time where people could submit music samples they had created.
I believe this software would have the cpabilities you arelooking for. This was a couple of years ago, though.
Maybe someone out there knows which band this was and if this music is still available. I don't even remember enough to search for it, unfortunately.
