How come Daniel chapters 1 -6 are someone writing ABOUT a Daniel,Ashpenaz,Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah; But chapters 7 - 12 is someone claiming to be Daniel??? Also Daniel at the exact place it changes from being about Daniel to being from Daniel it changes languages from Aramaic to Hebrew? These facts clearly show that it is highly likely the book has 2 different authors. This can be clearly seen in the English translations.

NOTE Judaism does not consider Daniel to be a prophet. He is not once spoken of in the Old Testament as a prophet.

Any websites you have addressing this issue would be great thanks

According yo the Oxford annotated bible, (RSV study bible), the author was telling six stories set in Babylon just before and just after the Persian conquest, to help encourage his fellow jews suffering under the persecution of Antiochus Epiphanes. Then he adds four visions of coming victory. So may or may not have been actually named Daniel.

Some stories may be told in first person, some not, hence the difference in referent.

Also the book was originally written in Aramaic, and some of it remained that way, though the end after section 7 is now in Hebrew. Which suggests mutliple sources copied and then later brought back together.

You can't take the entire bible literally.
