So if a shiite is not a true muslim in the eyes of a sunni, what is he/she? A non-believer? An apostate? What?

2006-09-02 03:01:22 · update #1

haroon,
I'm grateful to you. seems there really is a big divide. Sunnis regard shiites as outside the pale of Islam and as Kafirs. Is this worse than being a Christian or Jew in the eyes of the sunnis?

hell no ... they dissected a long time back and they hav no way to enter heaven unless they return back to the original teachings of the prophet muhammad(peace and blessings be upon him)

Yes but they have many flase ideas
In Islam all over the world They agree about the oneness of God They follow the same book - Quran(same words and letters all over the world). They follow the same prophet Muhammad . offer their prayers five time a day. fast in the month of Ramadan.Give charity (Zakat) which is the poor-due on the wealth of the rich go for hajj, pilgrimage to Mecca ...but they may have differnt opinions not on the basics

Those who follow some sayings and views of Ali (one of the early muslims leaders), as the rightful successor to Prophet Muhammad , are called Shia. Shia means a partisan (party of Ali) and it started more as a political party to help Ali in his conflict with his political adversaries.

About 90% of Muslims are Sunni, the word Sunni is based on the word Sunnah which is an Arabic word means the Prophet's Doctrine. Sunnis believe in (GOD) as the One Creator and Mohammad is His last and final Messenger.

but you have to know that the sects in islam not like the sects in other religions in other religions1- they can change in their books for example the Catholic Bible contain 73 books while the Protestant Bible has only 66 in Islam no one can change any thing There is not even one word of difference between two Arabic Qur'ans, anywhere in the world. There has been no disagreements in history among Muslims as to what should and should not be in the Qur'an

The Sunnah or Hadith consists of the teachings, sayings, and actions of Prophet Muhammad. This information was meticulously reported and collected by his Companions. It is essentially an elaboration of the Qur'anic verses that shows how they are to be implemented in one's daily life ALLthe true muslims agree about that

yes indeed it a very intresting question.please
I am just writting some very few incident of the truth therwise there are volumes and volumes of this that tells us that Ali was the right full heir of Prophet Mohamed.

" all the shias and sunnis ulema acknowledges that, in the 10th of the hijra year the Prophet of Allah, returning from his last pilgrimage, gathered together all his companians at gadir-e-khum.on the 18th of dhi'l-hijra. some of those who had gone ahead were called back by the order of holy prophet. and those who had lagged behind were awaited. most of sunni ulema and the historians and shias sources give the figure of 70000people there, and some of your other ulema, have written that they were 120000, people gathered there. the holy prophet ordered a pulpit. he mounted a pulpit and dilivered a long sermon, a greater part of which contained a virtues of ali. he recited most of the verses which has been revealed in praise of ali and reminded the people of the holy rank of the vice gerency of ali. then the holy prophet said "oh you people! have i not a greater claim then you have on your lives? " the refrence is to the holy verse "the prophet has a greater claim on the faithfull then they have on them selves".

the crowed with one voice shouted " certainly, oh massanger of allah! " then the holy prophet declared " of whome so ever i am the mola [master] this Ali is his mola." after this he raised his hand and prayed to allah. " oh allah, be you a friend to him who is a friend to Ali and be an anemy to him who is an anemy to Ali. help him who helps him and foresake him who foresake,s him." then a tent was pitched by the order of the holy prophet who ordered ali to sit in the tent. the whole umma was comanded to offer a leegiance to Ali. the holy prophet said that he gave this instruction in complice with the command of allah.

the first one to offer a leegiance on that day was ummar. then abubakar ,uthman, talha and zuber followed suit.and all other people continued offering a leegiance for three days.

I am sure this will help to clear all the doubts. shiites are in the correct path but were surppressed by the ruller of arabia as the were hungry for power and killed Ali and his progeny.

Well, thanks to Haroon for showing us that at least one subset of mohommedans speak (write) total gibberish. A very long explanation but utterly meaningless. Where understandable at all, unverifiable, the rest, well.........

As I thought before though, in order to persuade people of their "great intellect", they intersperse words that could be either in a foreign language or just made-up gobbledy-****. Since we (mostly) speak english, why not use english words. No doubt the mohommedans will insist that there's something important about the words. In reality, they should grow up and live in the 21st century.
Hopefully, the sunnys and the sheits will spend their time converting/killing each other, leaving them no time to make our lives miserable.

They are all very bad Hindus.
This is the true religion, because it includes ALL the others. Religion should not be divided.

DO NOT LISTEN TO HAROON.

Sufists are nearer to god than the Quran pickers.

well, its a question of deep concern for both the faction. No one has the right to say to other as Non-Muslim, only ALLAH (GOD) will be The Judge of It, so why bother? Peace to All.

As there are shiites and sunnites : they will both consider themselves true muslims, the other not. It's the same with the difference between catholics and protestants.
