Well, nobody else wants to tell ppl the truth about Muslims, so which is better, to run around with a blindfold on thinking that all Muslims are terrorists and 2nd class citizens, or to learn about what being a Muslim REALLY means and flushing their stereotypes and misconceptions down the toilet?
I myslef prefer knowledge above everything, it gives you full freedom to make sound and more accurate judgements. The best blessing in the world!

Take a good look around YA. Religion as a whole is being asked about a LOT in here. Muslims may be singled out by certain people but so is Christianity and Judaism being singled out by others and even some of the same people.

It's only natural. There is a group of people out there who want to do us harm in the name of Islam. You can't understand the threat without understanding something about the religion that motivates the terrorists. The idea of "they attack us because of our freedom" is garbage. It's much more complicated than that and the motivations of a lot of these radicals run deeper. I'm glad when I see people researching Islam because I don't want the family members of mine that are Muslim to be put in the same bucket as Osama.

Cause some people are not willing to be ignorant and find the truth about Islam and some are realising the truth everyday..Islam is a religon of peace, and Muslims peaceloving men...goto any Muslim neighbourhood and see the hospitality with which you are treated...maybe that's the reason that it's the fastest growing religon, especially in the west...

Non-Muslim American people are scared, angry, and confused by suddenly having a religion they know little about thrust into their faces in the news, on television, in local events, etc. Very little positive information is said about Islam currently. Mostly, we are exposed to violence, extremist rhetoric and international threat. I think some American non-Muslims are trying to find answers, and some are just looking to throw insults. Most of the curiosity is based in fear, more than in seeking religious knowledge.

I guess the reason is:
When it comes to religion, politics is there too...therefore misinforming is being done....many Christians think wrong about Muslims and Muslims too...
I guess, people here want to hear things from Muslim fellows so they can hear words from many Muslim/non-Muslim guys and it's more trustworthy...
I'm sure many News Service Companies are misinforming about Muslims so you may be interested to know about Muslim from their own tongue other than from Christian tongues...
Hope it helped,

Because of recent world events in the mideast, wars, terrorism, etc.
People are theoretically trying to understand the Muslim view of situations, though there are some who post it in a way that is insulting.

People are afraid of what they don't know. Hearing so much great things about Arabic cultures, their scientific developments...they are curious of the welfare of the people livinig in that religion, wanting to know more about things that are influencing them...why...I wonder if their good intentions are not to be honored, when there are so many people having bad intentions hanging around.

I don't think that many people are really interested in Islam here.
Therefore the reason must be that muslims just scare a lot of people.
