Lazy? No. The purpose of Yahoo! Answers is the sense of community, entertainment, and information. Sure, there are answers to questions on Google, but they are dry and non-interactive.

Well, for some of the questions that you could ask on google, such as: "anybody know a funny website" when you could type in "comedy" or something on google, you get peoples opinions as opposed to a list of websites to trawl through
Sorry if the syntax came across a bit weird, I'm hungover :D

Not only that, you can ask the search bar in Y!A a question, and a lot of times find the answer covered in much detail. I can't tell you how many times I've seen the same question over and over and over again. "how do i buy a car" just punch it in, I've answered at least a dozen times, and ignored 5 times as many that were answered pretty well.

Some people do not know how to use search engines properly or may be just confused by all the links. Yes, I'd say basically lazy - but it's more fun to ask a real person or persons!

Well I enjoy looking stuff up on google, however, if you look at the language used, a lot of the questioners are not able to string a coherent sentence together and google would just throw up gobbledegook.

spot on, someone asked where to buy a valence sheet a while ago. i think some of the people on here don't know where their front door is. yahoo search, google or just take a walk in the town centre.

Sometimes its easier to ask a question, rather than wade through google result pages that were designed to generate adwords revenue instead of providing information.

Sometimes when I use search engines they get completely the wrong idea and never give me what I want. No computer is as good as another fellow human being - yet.
