My husband and I are in our late twenties, and are about to move into our 1st home, which has been built from the ground up. It's a nice home (from our perspective), but we have family members who also buying a home --- six bedrooms, near the lake, etc. Well, my husband feels that they are constantly throwing it in his face. I try to explain to him that we are doing well, and one day we will be able to get a bigger home, AND to be happy for his other family members.

Heavens yes, families are competitive! Don't play into their game. They need bigger to feel good about themselves.

Yes family can be competitive. Almost all families have someone in theirs that is always trying to have better than the next person or is always showing off an item or new whatever! It sucks but I see it this way........it helps me to know that I want to just keep shooting for my goals (not to compete with them) but to have better like they do. Hope I made sense!
I have stupid cousins like that! Our family buys a new car, they buy a new car, the list can go forever. They need to grow up.
Just tell yor husband to chill and have a good attitude about it,congrats on your house!!
