spiritualism has only 7 beliefs/rules
1 the fatherhood of god
2 the brotherhood of man
3 the ministry of angels
4 reward or retribution for good or evil deeds
5 the continual development of the human soul
6 personal responsibility
7 the continual existence of the human soul
you will notice that 2 of the 7 are similar, that's because by law a religion has to have 7 principles, politics i guess ?
to all those christians who condemn spiritualism please read your cornthians !!!! and remember the trinty of god conists of , the father the son and THE HOLY SPIRIT, just because you are not pure of mind and cannot communicate with spirit do not condemn us or burn us at the stake.

I'm guessing you mean spiritism, not spiritualty. If you are read answer #1 a few times and let it sink in. Stay away from it.
According to the Bible when we reject God's truth God gives us up to believe things that are lies. You have indicated that both of you have "lost your faith" which means you will be especially susceptible to falling into error, and it sounds like that is the road you are traveling. The main reason people "lose their faith" is because they fall into sin (eg move in with their bf etc)and if they keep their faith they can't live the way they want. They reject God's teaching and the sin becomes a little more tolerable, but there is still a guilty conscience and so they begin to seek for a new religion that will allow their lifestyle. Because they have already rejected the truth the only thing avaiIable to them is error. would advise you to research again God's ways as found in the Bible, begin to live by God's standards, and give it another try.

I rejected Christianity as a young man because the specific denomination I was in had so many do's and don't's that I could not sustain their legalistic dogma in my personal life.
I went from there into eastern philosophy and yoga and transcendental meditation and settled for what was sort of a Zen Buddhism without a Buddha.
Ironically it was the writings of a Christian Chinese man that brought me back to Christianity. I would highly recommend that you read his book that breaks down the dynamics of what it means to be human and the specific identification of our spirit apart from our soul and body.
Today I am what I like to call a "thinking Christian" and do not empathize with those who say that we are to just shut our eyes and believe. No such thing as "blind Faith." God gave us a brain and expects us to use it. When revelation conflicts with the affirmations of reason we must be vigilante to walk with both eyes open believing that an answer can be had. I believe that is how God would want it and supports the biblical mandate to be ready to give an answer to others for the hope that is within us. All human investigations proceed from the assumption of the existence and validity of our faculties and that their unequivocal testimony may be relied upon. They are sufficient in giving us valid evidence about reality to the effect that we might think, decide and act upon their testimony. To deny this is to set aside at once the possibility of knowledge and rational belief, and to give the mind up to universal skepticism.

Spirituality is a belief in being good, but not putting a label on goodness. Religion wants you to believe that you can live your whole life as a decent human being and never harm anyone, but yet when you pass to the afterlife you will be punished if you do not believe in "a supreme Deity", yet a person who lives their life as a dregs of humanity can find a better place in the afterlife as long as they have made things right with whatever "Deity" they believe in.
Spirituality says, do unto those around you as you would have them do unto you. that is it, done deal. Nothing but a simple rule, just be good to each other and the world will be a better place. You would think that would be easy but yet it escapes most of the people on this planet. If you are a good person and you believe in being a good person and telling other people to be good people, and you believe a reward awaits you for being a good person, you are most likely a spiritualist.
Just Remember, Religion was invented because a set of rules with a threat of pain and suffering was needed to maintain order as humans never really have been able to play well together. However those rules and punishments were written in a day when humanity was clueless as to how their world worked and Gods, and magic, and cloak and dagger beliefs worked. In today's world we have to much knowledge to allow the threat of punishment from an unseen force after we die to deter us from being evil. Therefore we have to believe in each other and be good to one another. That is the basis of spirituality.

HI there.
I Have been down a few paths. Most of them new age.
I also had lost my faith because I never had a personal relationship with God so I thought it was all crap.
I found my answer 7 years ago.
I held on to the search for absolute truth. I wanted to find truth before I died. If you are honest and want to find it you will too. I will give you a clue. You wont find it from me or from any person. You have to find the source. If you want to know about Windows XP you can ask a lot of people and get a lot of answers but don't you think you might want to speak with Microsoft about it?
God Bless You on your journey.

Spiritualism: Spiritualism is a rational religion based on the knowledge, proven through mediumship, that the human spirit survives physical death.
But beware the clairvoyant seeing ghosties side of things which is also called spiritualism!

I will try to explain it as mentioned in Bhagavad Gita..
The First principle in Spirituality is that
"you are not this body but eternal Spirit" .
it is from here Spirituality word has derived...
We have been only engaged in working, thinking ourself as our body. Spirituality begins from understanding that we are not this body. We are Spirit soul who have been changing bodies..
The Body is temporary and will die ... But we the spirit soul are eternal and take up another body ...
Then comes the nature of Spirit.. - The nature of Spirit is Eternal , Full of Knowledge and Full of Bliss ...
But our state is exactly opposite ....
Then come how can we get to our original nature ... that explains the Duty of Spirit soul...
and thus it continues ...
I would very much recommend you to read Bhagavad Gita As It is for more information ...
you can read it at http://www.krishna.com/main.php?id=33

First you have to empty your brain and then open your heart (a lobotomy is help-full here) and then put on your spiritual helmet. To do this, just stretch your sphincter muscle over your ears and you will be there. Have fun.
