Not necessarily but It will give you a different viewpoint of life and how others percieve you once you tell them you've been to prison. It does teach you how to stand up for yourself though, i've learned it the hard way but would never recommend it as a school of learning

No, as a family memeber of 3 people that have been to prison it just makes them different like their values of life. Streetwise no but more conscientious about everything thats going on around them

A few people I know spent time in borstal or prisons and all came out completely nuts and went on to become career crims. The exception were those who were convicted of terrorist offences. These guys are now all working on community projects or for charities. So I guess it depends what you're in for.

It depends on who they're 'housed with'. I mean if they are sharing a cell with a burglar, they're likely to pick up pointers on ways to burgal. IF they're sharing with someone who's inside for a violent crime, they're likely to get a lot of tips on the best thing to hit someone with and so on. If people want to get streetwise, they should spend some time walking the streets and pay attention to the things that go on on them.

Depending on the prison leel you go to, you will definately learn what the word RAPE means. BTW, how can you get "street wise" if you aren't on the street. Things change over the years and if you are locked up long enough you get to a point where you will be unable to function outside prison.

I would say most prisoners are Street Wise or they wouldn't be there in the first place.

Being in prision is NEVER wise in any shape or form. It does make some people more bitter and negative though.

As you are locked up, I would say NO.
But it might teach you a lot of other things about a life of crime.
