I am a Catholic and I think that Believers of all faiths, Atheists, and Agnostics all share more than many realize. Who here would walk past a starving child and not give him a bite to eat? Who would slap away a begging women? Who could look at a dying person lying in the street and feel nothing? If you saw an old woman shivering in the cold would you not try and help her? I believe we need to stop arguing and insulting each other and realize we share much more than those divisions. We can discuss but why argue?

Let me add that the faith of the person I would be helping would not be one bit important to me. I leave that up to God.It is enough that they are humans.

Absolutely! Your intuition is spot on.------We are actually different aspects of the same fundamental being, perceiving REALITY from numerous different perspectives.------Both metaphysically and scientifically, there is no division or separation between us. There is only Oneness...the so-called unified field!------Sense perception causes us to see everything as divided and separate and to develop false egos which we imagine to be our real selves.------It is a case of not seeing/being the wood for the trees but intelligent questions like yours will help to awaken people to unity and reality.------Best wishes. Philip.

We all have more in common with each other as human beings than the differences we have as individuals.
We argue and fight instead of discuss and help because sometimes when we want to make people with other beliefs or values than our own more like us, we try to make them EXACTLY like us, without realizing that we can still have some differences when sharing a common goal, like the actions you describe above.

Amen. And of course this is what Jesus says. Our salvation isn't based on having correct theology. It's based on our mercy for the weak, the poor, the sick, the dying, see Matthew 25.

we are from the same source & 1 creator. something deep inside us cause us all do the same thing you mention above, all of us, what ever beliefs & religon get the warm & fuzz feeling when we done a good deed. that's the nature of God, loving ,caring, helpful & sacrificial.

p. s there's is only one "religious figure" that sacrifice His life for all of us. others set laws & instruction for you to follow to salvation.

You ask really good questions. How many of them have been featured?

We have so much in common because we all share one factor. ....We are all human.

The arguing is sad. We are more alike than different but sometimes our egos won't let us see that.
